Summer Term

Places

In the term ahead we are learning about 'places', focusing on the world around us. This includes growing and farming in the first half of the summer term and oceans and the seaside in the second half of the term. During these topics we will be learning all about life cycles, healthy foods and where they come from/how they are grown. We will also focus on how we can look after our own health, focusing on food, teeth, hygiene, screen time and exercise. We are also looking forward to lots of planting and growing, and even some healthy eating too! When learning about oceans and the seaside, we will compare past and present holidays of our family members and talk creatures that may live in the ocean and their different habitats. Finally, we look forward to presenting to families at our very special POPFEST towards the end of our time in Reception.

Spring Term

Changes

This term we will be focusing on changes in the Seasons and the life cycle of insects.  We will explore changes in the environment as we transition from Winter to Spring.  In the second half term we will be looking closely at Special times and Special places and how we each celebrate these times with our families.

Autumn Term

We are Special

This term we will be focusing on settling the children into Reception and getting to know them.  They will be making new friends and learning school rules and routines.  Our topic this half term is 'We are Special, friendships and animals'.  In the second half term, we will be focussing on Celebrations (people, cultures and communities).
