“Capturing the Imagination of Young Minds”
Pupil Premium is additional funding allocated to schools for pupils who are eligible for free school meals, or have been at any point in the last six years. For the current academic year (2020/21) the allocation is £1320 per pupil. Pupil Premium is also allocated for children who have been looked after by the local authority, or adopted from care (£2300 per child). Service Pupil Premium is allocated for children whose parents serve in the armed forces, or have left since 2011 (£300 per pupil).
Poppleton Ousebank Primary School recognises that all pupils, regardless of their background, should have equal access to a curriculum which will enable them to reach their potential. The pupil premium is a Government initiative that targets extra money to pupils from deprived backgrounds, which research shows underachieve compared to their peers.
